Finding beauty in normality

One of my favourite things about photography is being able to take something relatively normal and make it look beautiful.

I decided to have a go at doing that myself so went out into my back garden to take some pictures.

I’ve seen the garden pretty much every day of my life, but it’s amazing how differently you see things through a camera.

I haven’t tried to Photoshop the images or anything (I’m going to need to learn to do all that) and they’re pretty basic, but the only way I’m going to get better is through practice.

First of all, I looked at the two different trees in my garden and I really liked the contrast between them.

Looking at the bird feeders, I was trying to focus on the background to make the feeders appear blurred.

It didn’t work brilliantly though. I’m not sure if it’s because they were see-through or not, but I’m sure with some practice I’ll get the hang of it.

I thought some of the pictures looked nice though.

This picture isn’t really of anything, I just liked the way the tree was out of focus a bit.

Hopefully I’ve managed to capture a little bit of beauty.
